A ritual calm and magnetic energy infuses the backstage preparations for the Elie Saab Spring 2015 Haute Couture fashion show in Paris, a tribute to the generous, warm and glamorous spirit of Beirut.
She is a vision of refinement and cosmopolitan allure. Gowns come alive with her movements, as powder-soft plumage and appliqué prints, like petals, flutter with delicacy and a certain ‘douceur de vivre’ inspired by the grace of the women of Beirut, past and present. The silhouettes are ethereal in full-length gowns, short A-line dresses as well as opulent pantsuits of elaborate beading that evoke the lively energy of Beirut in the sixties.
Like the sun upon the Mediterranean Sea, accents of gold thread embroidery offset a temperate color palette of green, blue, pink and powdered ivory underscored by black in evening glamour.
