The Fall 2014 collection by Tonya Hawkes takes a dramatic, darkly glamorous turn. A collection of refined statement bags and clutches, Hawkes presents an edit of pieces rich with inherent femininity. Iconic shapes along with non-traditional materials make for a tight collection of new season pieces.
Resonating firmly with the 70s, the inspiration for the range touches on a BIBA bedroom, men’s suiting, 1930s handbags and jewelry from Georg Jensen. From acrylic detailing, exotic snake skins, molded detailing and patent leathers, along with stripes, micro dots, perforated metallic leather, hounds tooth and deco themes, each Tonya Hawkes piece feels iconic yet new, perfect for the opulent new mood of the season ahead.
After working at fashion houses such as Donna Karan, Furla, Sergio Rossi, Pollini, Gianfranco Ferre and Elie Tahari to name a few, she has built an outstanding reputation for creating original designs that capture the essence of a brand. Tonya uses her international lifestyle to inspire her for her own brand. “I can really take the best of both world and make all my dreams come true,” she says. “And now it’s time for my own label, Tonya Hawkes, to come to life”.
