The Missoni Pre-Fall 2014 collection featured bell-bottoms, minis, knit blouses with glam ruffled collars. One of the interesting things about this lineup was its emphasis on knit pattern outside the usual Missoni ken—there was a token amount of the signature wave and zigzag, but most of the real estate in this collection was occupied by a vaguely animal-esque spot motif and a painterly abstract floral. Both prints came off very organically Missoni, but they also shifted the graphic sensibility a touch. Texture was another evolution this season: There were a number of appealing three-dimensional knits, ranging from a dense, curly mohair to a delicate lacelike crochet. The combination of print, pattern, and texture was maximal.
